About us:

The Choir with No Name has run choirs for people experiencing homelessness and marginalisation since 2008, and we currently have choirs in Birmingham, Liverpool, London, Brighton and Coventry as well as Cardiff. https://www.choirwithnoname.org/

We were founded on the premise that singing with others makes you feel good; it distracts you from the nonsense in life and helps you to build confidence, skills and genuine, long lasting friendships. Each choir gets together to rehearse every week and share a meal at the end of rehearsal.  We welcome everyone, regardless of background, characteristics or idiosyncrasies.  We want everyone involved in the Choir with No Name to feel they belong in our community.

The Wallich is a leading homelessness and rough sleeping charity in Wales. For more information about our innovative work to support people across the country, visit The Wallich website. www.thewallich.com/about-us

In September 2021 we formed the Cardiff choir in partnership with The Wallich.  They meet to rehearse on Tuesday evenings and it’s co-run by a dedicated team of volunteers and members.  We have a strong ethos of bringing members and volunteers into the running and decision making of the choir and we will be developing this further so that the strengths and resources of everyone in the room are recognised, but skills can be shared and developed.  The choir also does regular gigs and workshops which bring in financial revenue and promotes the choir to potential new members and volunteers.

About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative facilitator who shares our values of fun, family, inclusion and integrity.  You will be able to inspire and empower others to achieve more than they believe themselves capable of. Our Cardiff Choir Manager will have overall responsibility for delivering rehearsals, gigs and workshops. The post holder will collaborate closely with choir members, volunteers and choir director as well as The Wallich and local partners and will use impact measurement tools to monitor, evaluate, and share learning with our central team.

They will manage and support a team of volunteers while also supporting members and providing pastoral care and signposting to appropriate services. There are also lots of chances to sing and have fun!

If you think you have the skills and drive to successfully manage our fabulous Cardiff choir, then get in touch!
