2 Tenor and 2 Bass Stipends Available with Warwickshire Singers          

Warwickshire Singers is a friendly, mixed, non-auditioned choir of around 40 members, who rehearse on Monday evenings in term time from 7:30-9:30pm at Kenilworth Methodist Church. Led by our excellent Musical Director, Jim Bate, we enjoy singing a very varied repertoire, ranging from sacred choral classics to secular pieces by contemporary composers.

We are looking for:

  • 2 tenors and 2 basses with experience of singing in choirs
  • Motivated individuals who have a passion for choral singing
  • Able sight readers

The successful candidates will:

  • Attend Monday night rehearsals from 9 October 2023 to 6 July 2024
  • Perform in 5 concerts at different venues in Warwickshire on 9 and 11 December, 19 & 20 April, 6 July
  • Support the tenor and bass sections of the choir

Remuneration:

  • A one-off stipend of £450 for the year (£150 x 3 terms), which includes travel/out-of-pocket expenses. Transportation to concerts can be arranged with the choir if needed.

  • Please email your CV, including relevant choral experience, a cover letter of no more than 500 words outlining why you are interested and an audio recording of a short piece (if this is not possible, please let us know) to our Musical Director, Jim Bate - jamesbate65@gmail.com by 6pm on Monday 25 September 2023
  • If shortlisted, you will be asked to sing a piece of your choice at a short audition with Jim Bate on Monday 2 October 2023. This should ideally belong to the Western classical tradition. You are welcome to contact Jim with a suggested piece beforehand if you are unsure.
