Windsor Soundswell Choir

VACANCY FOR PIANO ACCOMPANIST

Windsor Soundswell Choir is an established community choir of approximately 38 singers (SATB), seeking a new accompanist for our rehearsals and performances. We are based in Windsor and rehearse on Tuesday evenings at a local school during term time.

You would be working with our experienced Musical Director, Dr Guy Bunce, supporting our rehearsals and performances.

Repertoire

Our repertoire aims to include a variety of music with broad appeal to a diverse audience - from classical pieces to more contemporary works, folk music, musical theatre and much more

Rehearsals

Tuesday evening 19:30 – 21:30, term time only

Oakfield School, Imperial Road, Windsor

JOB DESCRIPTION

• To provide piano accompaniment for weekly rehearsals
• To be involved in the accompaniment for up to three concerts a year

Essential

• Piano accompanying skills
• Excellent sight-reading ability on the piano
• A musical ear and ability to keep track of a rehearsal, giving notes and supporting harmony as required, and to play individual parts within the harmony to ensure learning is achieved.

Preferred 

• Ability to score read, in up to 4 parts
• Previous experience in working with choirs

The post is available starting in January 2023. Remuneration is £34.00 per hour
