The Group Hero award, only introduced last year, celebrates those individuals, groups or committees who have gone the extra mile for their music groups and supported them throughout 2021 to make sure they thrive especially during the difficult transition to a post-pandemic life.

Tell us a bit about your group and what kind of music you play or sing? 

Southend Vox is a community choir based in Southend on Sea in Essex. We’re a mixed voice choir singing a wide breadth of contemporary music including pop, rock, gospel, soul, musicals, and anything in between.

Making Music, in partnership with Classic FM, is delighted to announce the seven winners of Britain’s Big Platinum Performance – a nationwide search to showcase some of the country’s best leisure-time music groups.
