Cantiana Christmas

Cantiana Choir hold their annual Christmas Concert at 7.30pm on Friday December 21st at St. Peter and St. Paul's church, Newnham, Sittingbourne, Kent. ME9 0NL

Billed as a candlelit concert of songs, readings and carols to celebrate Christmas. Containing well known favourites and lesser known pieces along with solos and duets, it will also contain the world premiere of the choir's commission "All The Days of Your Life" by young Manchester based composer, but former Sittingbourne resident,  Rachel Graff. Cantiana Choir Musical Director Lissie Bayford declared " This year is very special as we include the world premiere of 'All the Days of Your Life'."  The words of the anthem are taken from an Apache blessing and Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows".

Back in October Rachel led a workshop with the choir helping them to learn the piece. She said: "I travelled down to Kent for a workshop with Cantiana Choir. The commission, an anthem in memory of Alan Bayford, has some 'weird and wonderful' elements to it and they took on the challenge with enthusiasm! I'm looking forward to the premiere in December!"

Tickets, which cost £7.50 to include festive refreshments, may be booked through Lissie on 01795 886392, via email on lissiebayford@gmail.com, from Doddington Service Station or on the door.
