A recital of music for a cappella voices and voices with trombone and organ to include works by great composers of the Romantic Generation. This programme will be built around a combination of motets by Anton Bruckner, in his 200th Anniversary Year and the Aequali for solo trombones composed by some of his contemporaries. It will include a potential first performance of some newly-edited pieces for trombones and lower voices by Wenzel Lampel, who was Bruckner’s lodger and close contemporary. The evening concert will be preceded by a workshop for trombonists of all ages, with a chance not only to hear about the history of the trombone but also to try out a number of rare period instruments with expert guidance!
