A protegee of the conductor, Zubhin Mehta, CHEN REISS is an Israeli soprano, who studied in New York and then became a "house" soprano for Bavarian State Opera. She has sung with the prestigious Vienna State Opera, singing all the Lyric Soprano Mozart leads, -Zerlina, Pamina, Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro: Gilda in Verdi's "Rigoletto" and Nanetta in "Falstaff"etc.
Between times she accepts engagements to sing with the Berlin, Munich and Vienna Philharmonic orchestras, at La Scala, Hamburg State Opera, and at Festivals such as Salzburg and Lucerne, and gives recitals internationally in venues such as Vienna's famous Musikverein, and the Carnegie Hall. The list of conductors and orchestras with whom she performs is huge, including Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim and The Berlin Philharmonic, Orchestre de Paris, Pittsburgh Symphony, and Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra.
In December, 2014, Chen Reiss was invited by the Pope,to sing Mozart's "Et Incarnatus Est" at the Vatican in the televised Christmas Mass before an estimated world-wide audience of seven million. She is beautiful, has an amazingly pure and flexible voice, and a serene stage presence. She is booked to sing at Covent Garden in July 2018.
