Mozart - Requiem

Mozart's much-loved Requiem will be performed by Birmingham Festival Choral Society, using Czerny’s rarely heard piano accompaniment for four hands. David Wynne will conduct the choir and accompanists, Kevin Gill and Stephen Hargreaves.

In contrast, the choir will perform an unaccompanied work as a double choir with soloists from the Birmingham Conservatoire. The Vaughan Williams  Mass in G minor is notable for being the first Catholic Mass to be written in England since the Reformation.  It reflects the style of Byrd and other Elizabethan church composers which was enjoying a revival in the early 20th century.

We are particularly pleased to continue our links with the Birmingham Conservatoire by featuring soloists Olivia Thornber, Elise Fairley, Jack Dolan and Joseph Clayton.
