Welcome singers and players to the launch of the East of England Musical Theatre Orchestra (EEMTO)! EEMTO aims to inspire musicians and singers from throughout the East of England (and beyond!) to join together to play through full-length musicals, purley for fun!
An EEMTO playthrough is a unique opportunity to rehearse and perform a musical on a large scale in private. As this is our first ever playthrough we are looking to gather around 100 musicians and singers to form an orchestra and singing ensemble and we anticipate putting on our playthroughs quarterly throughout the county. After separate morning and afternoon rehearsals, the orchestra and singers will meet in the early evening to play through the show from start to finish, but with no audience present - much like a Sitzprobe.
The first EEMTO playthrough launch will on 17th December at St Faith's School, Trumpington Road, Cambridge.
The day is designed to bring musicians together who are either skilled amateurs or professionals with a passion for musical theatre, but is open to all. People come to gain experience, meet potential collaborators but most importantly...have FUN! We do ask that musicians are around grade 7+ so that everyone can benefit and gain experience from a high level of musicianship.
In order to cover venue, score hire, percussion hire and other costs we ask that everyone contributes £15 for the day.
