Singer

The Lost Sound is an amateur choir based in South Devon trained and directed by singing teacher and choir coach, Sandra Smith. We are auditoning for singers in all sections in early January.  Singers do need to have had some choir expereince before auditioning as we work at a good level and quite fast!

We have an ethos of vocal and choral education. We are looking for singers who want to work on their own individual vocal skills and whole choir's sound and performance skills. We rehearse weekly and attendance/availibilty to both rehearsals and concerts is important.

We believe strongly in the power of music, and especially singing, to bring people together and provide memorable experiences and as such our music is pursued in an enjoyable and positive fashion. We have a soft spot for early music and many of our programmes feature repertoire from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. 

Experienced singers wanted - choir with solo opportunities

The North Downs Consort has a small number of vacancies for contraltos, tenors and basses (one or two in each part).  Singers should have some sight reading ability but most important is the ability to blend vocally and join in fully with the life of the choir.  The Consort is a small (22-30 voices) Chamber Choir performing usually 3 concerts per year.  Repertoire is varied with both sacred and secular content.  We are based in N.E.

We are a male barbershop chorus based in Bournemouth/Poole with currently around 36 members. We are keen to recruit new people, particularly those in the 20-50 age bracket, for all four of our chorus sections. These are Bass, Baritone, Lead (in conventional terms Tenor) and Tenor (in conventional terms this would be akin to counter-tenor for the most part harmonising above the Lead line). We are especially looking for new members of the Tenor section.

Preparing for the end of Covid restrictions by looking for new members to join us

We are a well-regarded, auditioned chamber choir of around 35 voices with a reputation for high-quality singing and innovative programmes. Under musical director Richard Bannan, we perform a wide-ranging and diverse repertoire and collaborate with top-class orchestras and soloists in West and Central London and sometimes further afield – most recently performing Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem to a full house at St James's Piccadilly.

Dorset Bach Cantata Club runs three study weekends a year under the baton of a professional conductor. Christopher Brown will be conducting us on February 9th and 10th and Katrine Reimers on May 11th and 12th.
