Afternoon Concert

Local trumpet player, Hetty Christopher performs Hummel's First Trumpet Concerto. A favourite piece in the brass repertoire. You may have seen Hetty in the National Youth Orchestra's Prom concert.

Gordon Langford's Axminster Concerto - a rare gem - was written for the Axe Vale Orchestra. Gordon lived in Seaton for many years.

The concert finishes with Mendelssohn's First Symphony. All the characteristic fierce pace of the later Mendelssohn and the orchestral colour of this great Victorian composer are to be heard.
