The Axe Vale Orchestra

The Axe Vale Orchestra orchestra has been in existence for almost twenty years and was for several years recently conducted by the inspirational Arturo Serna. As Arturo has moved on to take charge of larger groups, we are in the process of trialing guest conductors. We put on three concerts a year: in Axminster, Colyton and Seaton, as well as being available for other events. Our concerts are made up typically of an overture, a solo concerto and symphony. Recent solo pieces have included Chopin's Piano Concerto No.1 and Shostakovich's Cello Concerto No.1. Our repertoire typically ranges from the eighteenth to the twentieth centuries.
