The Axe Vale Orchestra | Making Music

The Axe Vale Orchestra

The Axe Vale Orchestra orchestra has been in existence since 2005 and brings together amateur and professional players from East Devon, West Dorset and South Somerset. It was for several years conducted by the inspirational Arturo Serna. Since October 2023 we have been very fortunate to have Walter Brewster as conductor. We put on three concerts a year: in Axminster, Colyton and Seaton, as well as being available for other events. Our concerts are made up typically of an overture, a solo concerto and symphony. Recent solo pieces have included Chopin's Piano Concerto No.1 and Shostakovich's Cello Concerto No.1. Our repertoire typically ranges from the eighteenth to the twentieth centuries.
There are 5 rehearsals before each concert - please see our website: www.axevaleorchestra.co.uk .
