About the event:

Our new virtual concerts are being broadcast every fortnight throughout the summer on our YouTube channel.

Our member groups are not able to play or sing together in person at the moment, but many have been busy meeting up and making music together online from their homes. Now we are bringing these performances together and giving them a virtual platform so that audiences can experience and enjoy the wonderful variety of leisure-time music being created all across the UK.

Fortnightly from May until September, we’ll be featuring a selection of leisure-time music drawn from our membership, from choral societies to gospel choirs, community choirs to symphony orchestras, brass bands to ukulele groups, handbell ringers and more. So pour yourself a drink, kick off your shoes, and settle down to watch a selection of fantastic leisure-time music!

Paul McKinley will host our next concert on Tuesday 29 September at 7pm. It will feature:

Choir With No Name ('Ain't No Mountain High Enough'  Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson)
The Taborers Society & Pipe and Tabor Society of Japan ('Taborers Hunt the Squirrel' Traditional, from John Playford's The Dancing Master)
Wooburn Singers ('Covid Whisper')
Cavatina Singers & Llandaff Cathedral Choral Society — ('Kyrie' from Jazz Missa Brevis  Ian Lawson)
Lambeth Wind Orchestra — ('Staged' — Alex Baranowski)
Cappella Caeciliana ('Hallelujah Chorus' George Frideric Handel)
Belfast Philharmonic Youth Choir & Ulster Orchestra ('Hope'  Laura Sheils)
New Tyneside Orchestra ('Capriol Suite I. Basse Danse' Peter Warlock)
Southside Community Choir ('There Has to be a Song'  Andrea Ramsey)
