With our Christmas concert this year, the Occam Singers hope to re-create a little bit of magic and seasonal glow for you, away from the hustle and bustle that inevitably surrounds us on our journey to Christmas Day. So, come and hear us sing a range of pieces, from traditional carols to a new arrangement of ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’.
Two pieces central to our programme this year are ‘On Christmas Night’, composed by Robert Chilcott in 2010, which offers some glorious new arrangements of Christmas favourites and Ralph Vaughan Williams' ‘Fantasia on Christmas Carols’. Written in 1912. this single-movement work consists of English folk carols collected in southern England by Vaughan Williams and Cecil Sharp, interposed with brief orchestral quotations from more well-known carols; a rich menu indeed!
We are pleased to be joined by internationally acclaimed accompanists, organist Douglas Tang and cellist Carola Krebs, and between the carols, we are honoured to have the well-known composer Will Todd provide our readings.

Throughout this year we are pleased to be supporting the work of the Meath Epilepsy Charity, Godalming. The Meath has supported people living with complex epilepsy and associated disabilities for over 125 years and is in the top 1% of care homes to receive an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating. The Meath takes great pride in providing the best quality of life possible in a homely, yet highly professional environment. Residents are encouraged to fully embrace opportunities as members of their local community. The friendly staff teams assist residents to manage their epilepsy, gain valuable vocational and everyday life skills and to live fulfilled and healthy lives as independently as possible.
