Sing and Discover Handel's Messiah

To celebrate the long-awaited return of live, choral singing, Rochester Choral Society presents a Sing and Discover Workshop in Rochester Cathedral, directed by Judy Martin (Director of Music at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin). Sing and Discover workshops are for choral singers, choirs and music lovers who wish to broaden their range, extend their experience and increase their knowledge of style and context - and who enjoy a challenge! Participants will sing a selection of choruses from Handel's glorious, life-affirming oratorio, Messiah and will be accompanied by a chamber ensemble of talented, local musicians. You are welcome to join the singing or just come to listen. Please bring your own score if you have one (we will be using the New Novello edition, edited by Watkins Shaw), but a limited number of hire scores will be available to borrow on the day at no extra cost. We will not be serving refreshments during the workshop, but you may bring your own drinks if desired.

In view of the continuing threat from Coronavirus and the difficulty of singing through a face-mask, we request that all attendees register in advance at www.rochesterchoral.co.uk (or email tickets@rochesterchoral.co.uk) and take a lateral flow test within the 24h preceding this event. Anyone who has not been fully vaccinated and lateral flow tested should wear a filtering face-mask throughout this event, for the protection of themselves and others.
