In addition, pre covid, the Choir formally did another three concerts for Charity and has raised over £65000 for a variety of charities. The Choir's ever expanding repertoire is extensive and includes carols, folk songs, spirituals, motets, madrigals, Scottish songs and choruses from Opera, operetta and musicals. Previously in May of each year the Choir performed a concert of some of the finest oratorios in the choral repertoire. Over the years the Choir has established a reputation as one of the finest and most versatile choirs in the West of Scotland. The Musical Director who founded the Choir was Mr Ian Anderson who is now retired. The current Musical Director is Mr. Derrick Morgan. Unfortunately, due to Covid, the choir had been unable to meet face to face since March 2020. In October 2021 it was agreed that the Choir would come together using social distancing measures and wearing masks for a rehearsals. The Choir restarted in September 2022 is of course actively seeking new members Rehearsals so far have been successful and a small concert took place in November 2022. A Christmas concert took place 10th December which was very well received by the audience and a wonderful joint concert with Thomas Coats Memorial Choral Society took place in March 2023. A Spring Concert took place in May 23. The Choir will start the new session in September 2023 and it is envisaged that three concerts will take place and perhaps a Charity Concert.
