Musical director for Children’s Choir

Caerphilly Community Chorus is seeking to form a children’s choir, comprising of local pupils from year 3-6. The post is to commence in September 2018, allowing time to recruit choir members and build up the choir.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated MD to encourage and challenge the choir in a positive, supportive and enjoyable way. We require someone with the skills to inspire, motivate and develop the singing voices of the children with an element of fun.

The successful candidate will be a music educator with experience in conducting, who is able to work well with children. The goal is to perform 3 concerts annually, with a few performances at local events.

The choir will rehearse on Friday evenings, during term time, for 1 hour.

Choir rehearsals will take place at the Vanguard Centre, United Reformed Church, Van Road, Caerphilly CF83 1JZ.

Remuneration is based on a fee per rehearsal and per concert/event, to be discussed at interview.

The candidate will be subject to clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS).
