Description of vacancy: 

Halifax Concert Band is looking to appoint a Conductor/Musical Director to start as soon as possible (negotiable depending upon the availability of the successful candidate).

Established in 1979, we are a community concert band based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, with approximately thirty members ranging from 18years of age to retirement, from all walks of life. The band has only had three Musical Directors during its 42-year history, the first our inspirational founder who conducted us for 17 years and the second for the following 22 years.

The successful candidate will be able to inspire and motivate the band, leading rehearsals with a sense of humour and respect for individuals to ensure the band continues to develop and grow.  An accomplished musician, you will have relevant experience of conducting a large ensemble – wind band experience is desirable but not essential.

Whilst this is a voluntary position, we are committed to reimbursing reasonable expenses incurred as a result of fulfilling the role.
