HCO looking for front-of-house volunteers for kids concert on December 7th

Application deadline:
Sunday, 1 December 2019
Description of vacancy:

Holborn Community Orchestra is organising its first ever relaxed performance, open to all audiences and particularly aimed at welcoming kids with special needs to enjoy a symphony orchestra concert. The performance will take place in the lovely St Giles-in-the-Fields church, close to Tottenham Court Station, on December 7th at 4.30 pm, with doors opening from 3.30 pm. To help us make the event a success, we're looking for people available that day from 12 pm.

Your responsibilities will be to :

- help us set up the space so it's a welcoming environment for kids before doors open

- help the audience navigate the space and make them feel comfortable

- be responsible for tickets sold at the door and refreshments/bakes sold at the break (can be delegated but responsibility lies with you)

- help us engage with our young audience, by talking to parents, facilitating interactions between kids and musicians.

We'd love to hear from you if you :

- love classical music and would like to support an amateur orchestra

- believe music makes people's lives happier and more fulfilling, and that everyone should be given access to live music performances

- enjoy being around kids and experience with special needs kids would be a bonus

- are a sociable friendly person, keen to meet musicians and engage with the community

If you might be interested and would like to know more, we'd love to hear from you so please get in touch via info.hcorch@gmail.com or via our website.
