Conductor

Application deadline:
Thursday, 18 May 2023
Description of vacancy:

JUBILATE CHAMBER CHOIR, a well-established Oxford choir formed over 25 years ago, is looking for a new conductor to start in October 2023.

We are a mixed-voice chamber choir of about 30 voices, consisting mainly of professional people living or working in Oxford, and we enjoy singing a wide range of music from the Renaissance to the present day to a high standard. We give three main concerts a year in and around Oxford, and have performed in all the main Oxford venues, including Christ Church Cathedral, Keble College Chapel, the Church of St John the Evangelist and The University Church of St Mary the Virgin.

Entry is by audition, and all members are experienced singers with good sight-reading ability. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings in Oxford, more or less in line with the academic terms.

The ideal candidate will:

  • be an experienced musician with excellent conducting skills
  • have a strong track record in conducting high quality chamber choirs
  • live in the Oxford area, or be able to travel to Oxford regularly
  • be interested in a reasonably long-term commitment.

We would welcome applications from potential new conductors, to be received no later than Thursday 18 May. The application should include your CV, references and a covering email. We would also be happy to answer any preliminary questions about the post. Please send your application or questions to:
