Accompanist

Knaresborough Choral Society (KCS) is a well-established SATB choir in the historic town of Knaresborough, with approximately 70 singers. We rehearse in Gracious Street Methodist Church, Knaresborough, on Thursday evenings during term-time, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. The society performs three concerts each year, covering a wide range of music. We have an exciting programme planned for the coming season, under our wonderful Musical Director Daniel Rodriguez, which culminates next year in our 40th Birthday celebrations. We are a non-auditioning Society but strive for high standards and are proud to have performed many of the great choral works. We also perform at various local and community events throughout the year.

We invite applications from ambitious and creative musicians. We are looking for an enthusiastic rehearsal accompanist with relevant experience of working with amateur choirs. A willingness to lead occasional sectional rehearsals from the keyboard would be an advantage. Candidates who are also organists able to accompany us in concert venues as appropriate to the programme will be particularly welcome.

The Accompanist will be supported by the Musical Director and responsible to the choir committee.

Short-listed candidates will be invited to accompany a regular rehearsal during the first part of the Autumn Term as part of the selection process.

Remuneration and contract period are negotiable, and subject to an annual review.
