Love Music Junior Choir Chaperones

Love Music seeks volunteer chaperones to join our team looking after the children who participate in our Junior Choir’s weekly rehearsals at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall.  

Love Music Junior Choir had a membership of around 150 children before the start of the pandemic. Our members are aged 8-12 and come from all over the city. We will be relaunching the choir in September, and as some of our existing chaperones have had changes to work/home priorities, we are looking to welcome some new chaperones to our friendly and supportive team.

Chaperones are required from 3.40pm to 5.50pm on Monday afternoons during choir terms, which run for 8 weeks each in line with school term dates. There is no requirement to work at every session but we ask chaperones to commit to at least 5 dates, arranged in advance.

Chaperones are an essential and valued part of Junior Choir. They are the main point of contact for parents/guardians and children during the rehearsals, and play an essential role in the safeguarding and wellbeing of the children while in their care.

Applicants don't need experience of singing or music-making as this is a non-musical role, but they will have good verbal communication skills, be reliable, and enjoy working as part of a team. We are looking for people who can demonstrate enthusiasm for the joy of singing and doing your best rather than being perfect!
