Pentland Junior Singers Musical Director

About us:

• We are a youth choir for children aged 8 to 14 years based in Balerno.
• We perform two concerts per year in conjunction with the Pentland Singers and hold a Come & Sing event each September.
• We sing a wide variety of choral, folk and world music, and songs from shows and films.  We sing in unison, two and three part harmony.
• Rehearsals are held every Tuesday evening, during school term time, in Balerno Parish Church from 6.00pm to 7.00pm
• We are supported by the Pentland Singers who are a registered charity and are managed by a committee elected by our members.

We are seeking a new Musical Director who will:

• Have experience of teaching and developing musical skills and abilities with children.
• Have a clear conducting style.
• Encourage and develop the choir's musicality and skills.
• Have a track record of producing rehearsal and concert programmes that appeal to children with a range of musical tastes and are popular with audiences.
• Work with the committee and adult choir musical director in planning varied programmes.
• Be comfortable working with other professional musicians when required and has good contacts in the music world.
