Pill Festival Band is a community orchestra, whose primary aim is to allow anyone with the desire to play music with others the opportunity to do so in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Pill Festival Band has openings for instrumentalists at all levels. We have all orchestral instruments, which currently include, violin, viola, cello, flute, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, clarinet, saxophone, etc..
Our band is split into three performance levels, beginner, training, and performance, allowing anyone at any skill level to play with others of similar ability. Our beginner section provides group training.
Fees are £5 per session for adults (or £15 p.c.m.), under 18s and full time students under 25 are free.
Children and younger players are particularly welcome and we have an instrument loan scheme.
Rehearsals are held each Monday during term time, and consist of consecutive one hour sessions for beginners, training and performance, and at no extra cost you can attend more than one of those sessions.
