Description of vacancy: 

Stafford Sinfonia, one of the leading chamber orchestras in the West Midlands, are looking for new members to join their ranks as they embark on their 50th anniversary season.

Performing three concerts a year of baroque, classical, early romantic and light music to large and appreciative audiences in Stafford, the orchestra relishes performing well-known classics alongside lesser-known gems to a high standard and in their own distinctive style.

The orchestra are looking for the following permanent musicians:

  • 2 x Violin I
  • 2 x Violin II
  • 3 x Violas
  • 1 x Cello
  • 1 x Double Bass
  • 1 x Trumpet

We also sometimes require extra woodwind, horns, trombones and percussion and would welcome applications to join our waiting list/deps list.

Players ought to be of a post-grade 7 standard, though no formal grades are required, and should have a significant amount of orchestral experience.

Led by conductor, Jack Lovell and leader, Simon Coombs, the orchestra rehearse on a Monday evening at Tillington Manor Primary School, Stafford. With 9-10 rehearsals per concert the orchestra is looking for dedicated, passionate and friendly musicians to expand an already healthy sized chamber orchestra as they progress in to a new and exciting chapter. We look forward to welcoming you soon!
