The UK Choir Festival returns this year, promising workshops and collaborative performances for vocal groups of all kinds and abilities. Making Music staff will be manning a stand at both weekends, so if you're coming, make sure you stop by and say hello!
What is it?
Launched in 2016, the Festival is aimed at providing support, training and performance opportunities for vocal groups, around 20 of which are expected to be taking part each day.
Each day will begins with a warm-up followed by a series of workshops on various elements of singing. There will be mass choral singing, demonstrations and each day choirs will be given the opportunity to take part in a final performance.
The festival is non-competitive, but very much ‘hands-on’ for everyone to watch and learn from each other whilst being guided and developed by some of the best workshop leaders in the UK.
There will be opportunities to busk, make new friends and talk to the workshop leaders, as well as learn new techniques, brush up on performance, and hear about tips and tricks.
