Come and join Piers Maxim and The Elgar Chorale for a day, working on one of the great oratorios.
Together with our brilliant accompanist, Euodia Jordan, we will explore the wonderful choruses Mendelssohn wrote.
‘Elijah’ owes much to the J.S. Bach and G. Handel’s form of oratorio, but with Mendelssohn’s distinctive and more romantic style.
From the first chorus Help, Lord!, to the final ‘And then shall your light break forth’, Mendelssohn gives the chorus a chance to show their dynamic abilities. This work has everything a choral singer could want!
Cost - £25 per singer+ booking fee (Students £15).
This includes music hire, a delicious buffet lunch and hot/cold drinks during the breaks.
Please bring your own water.
