Changes to MM Platform Service prices 27.03.2024

Dear {contact.first_name},

We are contacting you with an update about your MM Platform. We are sending this to you as our main MM Platform contact – but of course feel free to pass it on to other people in your group.

Changes to the MM Platform Service fees

From 1 May 2024 we will be increasing the fees for the MM Platform Service.

What are the new fees and what else will be changing?

The new prices from the 1 May 2024 have been outlined in the table below.

  Current Price New price
Annual Licence fee £78 per year £99 per year
Scheduled tasks (Extra) £18 per year £36 per year
Domain name management (Extra) £25 per year No change
Extra Nightly back up (Extra) £25 per year No change
Additional storage (Extra) £25 per year No change
SSL certificate (Extra) £15 one off No change
MM Platform App (Extra) £36 per year No change

From 1 May 2024 any new Platform user will be required to have an SSL certificate.

Most existing Platform users already have an SSL certificate, but if your group does not currently have one, we strongly recommend that you do.

More information about SSL certificates and what they are can be found in our Service Hub and you can contact us on platform@makingmusic.org.uk for more information about how this can be added.

Why are the fees increasing?

Since launching the service in 2019, Making Music and the developer have made huge improvements. Such as; appointing a dedicated Platform Support Officer, developing MM Platform help guides, running events and introducing the MM Platform Advice and support Facebook group. We have also launched the MM Platform App and Scheduled tasks extras as well as the developer making a number of improvements to the way in which the Platforms work for our members as outlined on our news update page.

Making Music have not increased the fees for the service since launching in 2019. But we need to increase our fees now to ensure we can continue to provide a high level of support and develop the product.

If you have any questions then please don't hesitate to contact us on platform@makingmusic.org.uk.
