Leader: Arwen Newband

Our final concert of the season showcases an exhilarating array of orchestral masterpieces. We are thrilled to welcome back Owain Arwel Hughes, the orchestra’s President, to conduct.

Starting with the dramatic Tannhäuser Overture by Wagner, we journey through the serene beauty of Delius’s The Walk to the Paradise Garden, the majestic flow of Smetana’s Vltava, and the majesty of Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance.

Vaughan Williams’ London Symphony – a fascinating and meditative work dedicated to Vaughan Williams’ friend and fellow composer George Butterworth who was killed by a sniper on the Somme during World War One – closes the concert, and our 2024/25 season.

Join Owain Arwel Hughes for a free pre-concert talk at 7pm
