The One Voice Watford Community Choir is seeking a new Musical Director (MD) to start September 2025.
Founded in 2008, we meet every Thursday evening (term time) at The Clarendon Muse, located within the grounds of Watford Boys Grammar School. We are a non auditioning, inclusive choir of both non music readers and music readers, with a current membership base of around 40 members. Attendance numbers over the past year have declined, and a key aspiration of the choir’s management committee is for the choir to be reinvigorated. In addition to rehearsals, the choir enjoys performing at community events throughout the year.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and energetic MD with a passion for music making, and an ability to get the best from the choir. The choir enjoys a repertoire of uplifting music, ranging from musical theatre, films, folk, popular music and the ever popular sea shanties!
The Clarendon Muse is a fantastic performance space that hosts local, regional and national musical events. The auditorium has been acoustically designed to provide the perfect space for musical performances, and One Voice Watford Community Choir are very proud to be based in this fabulous venue.
The post will be remunerated at a competitive hourly rate depending on experience, and on a self employed basis
