Wedmore Opera

Wedmore Opera was formed by group of friends, around a kitchen table, in 1988. Now a Charitable Incorporated Company with a board of trustees (no office or employees) it aims to stage an opera, in Wedmore, every couple of years, with fundraising events in between. With a community chorus and production team, trained soloists (often early in their careers) and a small orchestra, venues have included the village hall, the church and a theatre tent.
