Opera: Gluck and Wagner with Dr Francis Burroughes

Following his fascinating talks entitled “Four by Ten Years” giving an overview of European Music in four centuries, Dr Francis Burroughes will now be exploring the life and music of these two great opera composers.  Wagner was one of the most important composers of his time, completely redefining opera in the nineteenth century. However, he also had a great admiration for Gluck.
