With a reputation for the courage, vitality and intensity of its performances the Marmen Quartet is fast establishing itself as one of the most engaging talents in chamber music. The quartet formed at the Royal College of Music in 2013, and has returned there as Quartet in Association, giving regular coaching to chamber music groups and mentoring young quartets through the RCM String Quartet Platform.
Their repertoire ranges from Haydn to contemporary works, premiering works by Garth Knox, Salina Fisher and Hannah Kendall. Their debut recording this year (BIS 2025) features Ligeti and Bartók; future recordings will include Debussy, Ravel and Toru Takemitsu. They have played at the Wigmore Hall, the BBC Proms, Berlin Philharmonie, Stockholm Konserthuset and Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, among many international appearances.
