We have been fortunate in engaging Ben Goodson, currently assistant conductor of the Berlin Radio Choir, who is visiting us from Berlin to lead this event. This will be his second workshop visit to the Society.
The main focus will be on Elgar's The Kingdom which the Society is due to perform in Bedford on Saturday 25th November. Verdi's Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from Nabucco (Va Pensiero), may also feature at the request one of the local choirs also invited. Some scores will be available but if you have copies of either, or both of "The Kingdom" and/or The Oxford University Press "Opera Choruses" please bring them along.
From past experience this will be a sociable and entertaining day with the aim of further developing vocal skills and techniques appropriate to these rich and large scale works. You will have opportunity to meet with members of Bedford Choral Society and other local choirs attending the workshop.
If you or a group plan to attend we would appreciate your letting us know numbers in advance so that we can plan accordingly. You may either email directly to info@bedfordshoralsociety.org.uk or contact via http://www.bedfordchoralsociety.org.uk/contact/contact.php
The day will run from registration at 09:30 am until approximately 4.00pm with tea and coffee breaks, and a "bring your own" lunch-break.
