The orchestra is pleased to welcome Debbie Fuller as soloist in the Oboe concerto by Cimarosa (arranged by Arthur Benjamin) which features in The Vale Royal String Orchestra’s concert in the wonderful acoustic of St Peter’s Church.
Debbie studied oboe and cor anglais at the Royal Northern College of Music, where she was awarded the Peter Graeme Oboe Prize and the Winfield Scholarship. At thirteen, she won a full music scholarship to Wells Cathedral School and also gained a place in the National Youth Wind Orchestra, later playing principal oboe. She now works as a primary school teacher specialising in infant music, as well as performing regularly with many orchestras and ensembles in the North West.
As part of the Pot Pourri the programme also features a new arrangement for String Orchestra of a selection from Copland’s ever popular Rodeo suite. The other works included in the programme are, Molly on the Shore by Percy Grainger, Idyla Suite by Janacek and Mozart’s Divertimento K138.
Richard Adam son who conducted our last concert at Little Budworth returns to take the orchestra through this inspiring programme.
