Journey through soundscapes of Earth, Water, Air and Fire
Featuring music by Arbo Gjelo, Lauridson, McMillan, Whitacre and more.
"Elements" launches Ipswich Choral Society's 2025-26 season with new Music Director Christopher Borrett on 22 November at St. Joseph’s College Chapel. Featuring music by acclaimed composers Rani Arbo, Ola Gjeilo, Morten Lauridsen, James MacMillan, Eric Whitacre, and others, the audience are invited on a stunning choral journey through the natural elements.
The concert focuses on the choral genre known as ‘soundscapes’, evoking a sonic representation of the vast landscapes found on our planet. Incorporating the four Greek elements of Earth, Water, Air and Fire, the programme weaves together an eclectic mix of choral works to celebrate the power of nature and the beauty of the human voice.
Ipswich Choral Society is delighted to welcome Katherine Williams as soprano soloist and the Gainsborough Quartet, renowned for its warm, expressive, and vibrant performances.
Join us for a breathtaking concert where the elements come alive through choral music. Let the power of music transport you into nature’s most breathtaking soundscapes.
