The Derbyshire Singers, Music Director

The Derbyshire Singers is a highly regarded SATB choir based in Matlock, Derbyshire.  We are seeking to appoint an experienced Music Director from September 2024 following the retirement of the current holders at the end of this our 50th Season. We are looking for someone who will work with us in continuing an ethos of high-quality concerts performed by our singers drawn from many areas of Derbyshire, together with nationally and internationally recognised musicians.  We enjoy performing a wide range of music from early polyphony to contemporary classical works.

We are seeking someone who has both a love of and experience in working with both the classical and contemporary choral repertoire and who will continue to strive for the excellence for which we are known, through commitment and innovation. In addition they will further develop the standard of our singing, and lead us ambitiously in new musical challenges.

The post becomes available from September 2024. Remuneration will be within Making Music’s average ranges with rehearsal and concert fees paid.
