Musical Director for In Ecclesia, Taunton

Do you have a love for English Church Music? 

If so, you might be the ideal person to be In Ecclesia’s new Musical Director

In Ecclesia is a friendly and longstanding auditioned choir based in Taunton with a membership of about 30. Our main purpose is to sing choral services (particularly Prayer Book Evensong) in local churches that cannot support their own choirs. We sing between 9 and 13 services a year and, typically, one cathedral weekend a year. The membership of collaborative and experienced church musicians is keen to find someone who can lead them forward in this, the choir's 70th anniversary year.

Rehearsals currently take place for 1½ hours on a Thursday evening during school term times (typically about 36 rehearsals a year) in King’s College Taunton chapel by kind permission of the Headmaster. 

The Choir does not often sing concerts, but may do so from time to time. In Ecclesia is sometimes invited to sing for weddings, funerals, Christmas and other festival services.
