Music Director

The North Downs Consort is a chamber choir based in Woldingham, Surrey, website www.northdownsconsort.org.uk. We give concerts in Woldingham and Caterham. We rehearse on Monday evenings in term time from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. We have a hard-working committee. We are building a local following.

We give three concerts a year. In recent concerts we performed Rutter’s The Sprig of Thyme, Britten’s Ceremony of Carols and Brahms’s Song of Destiny. We sing pieces with accompaniment and a cappella works. We have no accompanist for rehearsals so our MD will need to use our keyboard to help our learning. We sing serious music but at the same time we need our rehearsals to be encouraging and enjoyable.

Our previous MD had to give up due to health problems. We were sad to lose him.
