We're delighted to announce that composer Jenni Pinnock, herself an Adopt a Composer alumna, will be joining our three current mentors this year to mentor one of the 7 pairings
Following her own AaC pairing with Quangle Wangle Choir in 2013/14, Jenni has gone from strength to strength with her music (described as 'refreshing', 'imaginative' and 'tantalizingly beautiful in smoothness and soul') being performed across the world. Current projects include Cracked Voices, a song cycle in collaboration with writer Graham Palmer, funded by Grants for the Arts and PRS Foundation and premiering in Cambridge in early 2018.
Jenni Pinnock:
Being part of Adopt a Composer in 2013-14 was a wonderful experience, and a turning point for my career. A few years on, it's a privilege to be able to give something back to a scheme I'm so passionate about.
Emerging composers need opportunities to work with musicians, and amateur ensembles need support in accessing new music. Adopt a Composer carefully combines the two to facilitate the creation of wonderful new music, and I'm excited to be a part of it again!

One of the reasons this project works so well, year after year, is due to the quality and commitment of the mentors who accompany composers and groups throughout the project. It is therefore very exciting to be able, through funding for an additional pairing from Creative Scotland, to support the nurturing of a new mentor for Adopt of Composer.
Jenni Pinnock’s enthusiasm for leisure-time groups, commitment to the scheme and outstanding communication skills will undoubtedly see her flourish in this role.
The pairings for the 2017/18 projects have now been selected and will be announced at the project launch on 30 September.
