The Catherine Cookson Charitable Trust offers grants to charitable organisations working in the North East of England.

The Trust supports a wide range of activities including education and training, environment and conservation, arts and culture as well as general charitable purposes. The Trust’s principal aim is to identify and meet the local needs of the area in which Dame Catherine was brought up and resided.

Last year, the trust awarded around £970,000 in charitable donations.

Spear Charitable Trust

 

The Spear Charitable Trust Grant is provided and administered by the Spear Charitable Trust and is available for voluntary and community organisations in the UK.

The scheme is intended to support organisations undertaking charitable projects, with particular charitable assistance to employees, or former employees, of JW Spear and Sons Plc.

Funding is at the discretion of the Trustees and although there are no minimum or maximum funding levels set, most grants are for less than £8,000.
