1st or 2nd Clarinet

Enthusiastic, fun, sociable and friendly amateur Wind Orchestra based in north London, conducted by Dwight Pile-Gray. No auditions. We have a good number of clarinets, but a slight lack of 1sts & 2nds (as we are a mixed ability community ensemble).

Rehearsals: Wednesdays 8-10pm (arrival from 7:45pm) at Martin School, N2 9JP No rehearsals in the summer from mid-late July until early-mid September. Also rehearsal breaks (about a month each) at Christmas and Easter.

The nearest Underground station to our rehearsal venue is East Finchley (Northern Line, High Barnet branch) and 263 bus passes the school, with 102, 112, 143, 232, 234 & 382 also stopping nearby. Many in the orchestra also organise car sharing.

Concerts: 3 a year (sometimes extras) in Tufnell Park / Kentish Town. Concert dates for Spring & Summer 2023: 25th March & 15th July. Regular tours within UK and in Europe. Tour destinations: Isle of Wight (2022 [postponed from 2020]), Bournemouth & Poole (2018), Liverpool (2017), France (Reims, 2013) and Belgium (2007).
Our membership fees are £63/term, or £47/term concession for unwaged members. We're especially keen to hear from you if you play: trumpet/cornet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, baritone saxophone, or percussion.

Double Bass

Newent Orchestra consists of amateur players from around the Three Choirs counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Membership encompasses a wide range of playing abilities and ages. This friendly orchestra is currently growing in membership and repertoire and presents highly successful and enjoyable concerts and events at local venues. Repertoire ranges from light orchestral to powerful symphonic, from film to original works.

Newent, in Gloucestershire, is a picturesque medieval town, about ten miles from Gloucester and from Ross-on-Wye. Cheltenham, Ledbury, Monmouth and Malvern are within our catchment area.

Lively and super friendly concert band based near Weston-super-Mare in North Somerset.  Rehearsals every Thursday throughout the year and sensible diary of varied engagements.
