Conductor/Music Director

Exeter Choral Society wishes to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic Musical Director who shares our love of great choral music and will bring their own energy, inspiration, and creativity to the choir. This position has become available due to the retirement of our current MD, who has served since 2008.

About our choir:

Following the retirement of our founder director, we are looking to appoint her successor from September 2023 to continue leading the choir in a wide range of musical styles.

Meraki are looking for a Choral Conductor/Artistic Director to lead them into the next chapter. Based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, this female, non-auditioned, yet ambitious, choir are looking for a creative and enthusiastic person to become part of their team and enable exciting opportunities to be siezed! 

We are seeking a new Director of Music - someone who

1. has experience of choral training and performance
2. is a natural communicator
3. has experience of working with professional orchestras and soloists
4. will challenge and further develop the choir and its repertoire

Hours:  6 hours per week, to include weekly evening rehearsals (ideally Wednesday) and preparation time. Extra hours for gigs and workshops paid spereately.
Contract: One Year Fixed Term Contract
Salary: Rehearsal - £150 Gigs - £100 Workshops - £75

Musical Director, Forest Row Choral Society

Forest Row Choral Society is seeking to appoint a new musical director from April 2023 as the current MD is retiring.

We are looking for an enthusiastic musical director with a good sense of humour and some experience of working with an amateur/community choir of varying musical abilities. 

Background

Forest Row Choral Society is a friendly, non-audition choir of around 50 members.

It was founded in 1962 as the Michael Hall School Choral Society under its first director Cecil Cope. In 1985 Tom Scratchley took over and moved the choir into the centre of the village.

Under his direction FRCS has developed into a true community choir open to all ages.  

We are delighted that top British tenor Mark Padmore – who lives locally – is our president and has performed various key roles in FRCS concerts since 2013.
