Conductor/Music Director

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled musician with a strong affinity to the LGBTQ+ community to support the continued growth of our choir and develop our performance/vocal skills and confidence. For many members the choir is our chosen Rainbow family and a safe space to be our authentic selves. Our musical director plays an essential part in fostering a welcoming, fun and inclusive environment.

The Edinburgh Bach Choir is an auditioned, amateur choir currently consisting of around 80 singers of all abilities. The choir rehearses regularly on Tuesday evenings at St Cuthbert’s Church, Lothian Road, Edinburgh, with performances on a weekend three times a year.

Fleetwood and District Choral Society is seeking a new Musical Director to start in September 2024.

We are a non-audition choir and deliver several quality performances annually with orchestra or organ.

At present we have a membership of 30-40 and hold our rehearsals im Fleetwood, with an accompanist, on Friday evenings 7:30 – 9:30.

We are looking for a Musical Director who has:

Experience of conducting an SATB choir and directing an orchestra.

A wide musical knowledge

Good communication skills with a sense of humour

Vacancy for Musical Director

Cantiones Choir is an enthusiatic and committed group of around 40 voices, based in Oswestry,North Shropshire, that aims to sing to a high standard. Under our current MD Martin Bussey we have achieved that. Martin will be retiring in December 2024 after five years at the helm, during which time we have benefitted hugely from his choral expertise and experience. Welsh Camerata/Camerata Cymreig, Wales’s specialist early music choir, seeks a new Music Director to start in September 2024.

After more than two years our choir leader/conductor is leaving us and our area from about the Autumn of 2024. 

We are a small choir (between 15 and 18 people) and have had access to the musical talents of Andrew Hague for free. We are looking to replace his role, if possible, but would not be able to pay much as we have very little income and our members are mostly retired on  limited pensions.

We currently meet on Tuesday evenings at St Mary's Church, Uffculme. Uffculme is a small, working village in Mid-Devon just 8 minutes from Junction 27 on the M5. 

The Trustees wish to appoint a successor to Richard Vendome, founder and Director of Oxford Girls’ Choir and of Oxford Youth Choirs, who will retire in July 2024 after 40 years. The Musical Director leads a team of talented teachers, and the role combines elements of artistic and musical direction, as well as operational oversight.  Oxford Youth Choirs is a family of six groups, aged 9 months - 19 years, each with its own teaching staff.  The choirs rehearse in Oxford on Saturday mornings during school term.
