Conductor/Music Director

South Bank Singers (SBS) are recruiting a new Music Director to take over from our current director, Charlie Gower-Smith, who is stepping down at the end of May 2020.

We are inviting applications from individuals who have two or more years’ experience of conducting a chamber choir performing sacred and secular music both accompanied and a cappella.

FARNHAM AND BOURNE CHORAL SOCIETY is an established non-audition choir based in West Surrey and performing a classical repertoire.  Our Musical Director will be stepping down in June 2020 to focus on some of his many other commitments. We are looking for an inspiring and musically accomplished leader to replace him and direct, train and take the choir forward.  The post will become available from 1st September 2020 but we hope to appoint by 31st May 2020.

Swindon Choral Society is a long-standing amateur choir of about 90 singers.  We put on four concerts a year in and around Swindon, with a variety of programmes (details can be found on our website).  We rehearse on Thursday evenings and currently have 10 – 12 rehearsals for each concert.  From time to time we also sing at or promote other events, for example Come and Sing days associated with our concert

Cappella Caeciliana is one of Northern Ireland's leading choirs and is seeking a new Musical Director (remunerated) frpom 1st January 2022.

Divertimento, one of Leamington Spa’s foremost chamber choirs, is seeking to appoint a new Musical Director to commence in September 2020.  The choir, of around 25 singers, enjoys an outstanding reputation for the quality of its performance and sound, performing sacred and secular music from the Renaissance to the present day. As well as giving concerts for charity, we also host workshops and events to support cultural, educational and community interests.

Penshurst Choral Society, based in Kent, is seeking to appoint a new musical director. 

We are looking for a dynamic director of music with previous experience of conducting choirs and excellent communication skills, patience, a sense of humour and an interest in extending and developing our repertoire to lead us from September 2020.   Someone who can inspire and engage the choir with their passion for choral singing, along with a clear directing style and a sense of fun.

Market Drayton Choral Society is looking for a new Musical Director with effect from January 2021 as Ken Sterling has retired after 35 successful years with the choir.

MDCS is a mixed choir of about 38 members with a good balance between SATB.  The choir performs a repertoire of mostly classical and contemporary classical music.

Our new Musical Director will share our ambition and enthusiasm, develop our musicianship and build on the standards that underpin the choir's reputation for excellent music making.

Hampshire Police Male Voice Choir is seeking to appoint a new MD. The choir is one of the South's leading Male Voice Choirs and this year celebrates its 80th Anniversary

We are a choir of some 60 members comprising both serving police staff, retired police officers and members of the local community, and we represent the Constabulary within Hampshire and beyond. We rehearse every Wenesday evening from 1900 to 2130 at Sarisbury Green Social Club, and perform up to 12 concerts a year

We are looking for a reliable and skilled MD/choir leader to take over our mixed community choir of around 20 members to commence in March 2020.

Experience of community music leading and enthusiasm are more important to us than extensive experience of choral conducting. The choir is mainly taught by rote using lyric sheets with backing tracks mainly in unison with some two-part singing and a capella work.  When part-singing it can be melody or harmony sung by choice. Songs are requested by members and/or sourced by the leader.

Gotherington Singers, a well-established choir of female singers, is seeking to appoint a Musical Director to start in Spring 2020. We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic and inspiring leader to take this friendly choir forward.
