Making Music presents a number of awards, bursaries and opportunities to professional musicians. Some of these, such as the Philip & Dorothy Green Young Artists, St Martin's Chamber Music competition and Selected Artists brochure help promote a wide range of young, award winning artists to our 3000+ member groups. Others, like the Adopt a Composer scheme, aim to build experience and learning between amateur music groups and professional composers.

The scheme pairs amateur choirs, orchestras or ensembles with up-and-coming composers for 12 months to produce a new piece of music, culminating in a premiere performance which is broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
