Conductor/Music Director

Music Director/Conductor Seaford Choral Society from Jan 2024

We celebrated or centenary in 2017. Over 100 years of community singing with over 70 members. No audition is needed, just a desire to enjoy singing with a friendly group of people. We need a director who is able to work with people with a range on musical ability, to move us all forward but above all, for all to have a good time.

We rehearse on Monday evenings towards three main concerts. In November/December we usually sing a sacred piece and Christmas music, sharing solos. The Spring concert is our most formal, with a major work and as many instruments as we can afford. In Summer we lighten the mood, often linking with a local primary school and have as much fun as possible, often using multi-media and elements of drama and plenty of surprises.

If this sounds like something you could enjoy please drop us a line. We can arrange for you to come and give us a try.

Orchestra conductor

Conductor required for the Bristol Chamber Orchestra

MUSICAL DIRECTOR

Helston Chamber Choir was formed in October 1971 as the Helston and Kerrier Music Society by Rev. John Simpson, while vicar of Helston. It was intended to provide musical education and entertainment by putting on concerts, recitals and talks at reasonable prices. The choir was formed as part of achieving this aim. For some years now the choir has been the only functioning part of the society and the name was changed to Helston Chamber Choir in the early 2000s. We are currently a mixed voice non-audition choir of between 20 - 30 singers who meet on a Tuesday evening in St Michael's Church, Helston, Cornwall. We present two or three concerts per year. Under our present musucal director we have successfully performed Bach's St John Passion, several Bach cantatas, Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and King Arthur, Buxtehude's Membra Jesu Nostri, Charpentier's Messe de Minuit, Haydn's Creation and numerous shorter pieces both older and works by contemporary composers inernational and local. (See our website for more information)
